Energy and Environment

Majority of the environmental emissions and corresponding impacts are resulted from the energy supply and demand sectors. Increasing pressure on the environment has become a main concern for the human society. Therefore, it is a key responsibility of the research and technology development entities in the energy sector to focus on the transition pathways to a more sustainable energy system in the future. To meet the needs for fundamental researches in various energy and environmental issues, energy and environment research group has been established. The outlook of shaping such research group is to have a key role in presenting solutions for national and international challenges on sustainable development of energy systems. Our fields of activities are as follows.

Main Activities

  1. Development of energy-environment models
  2. Environmental assessment and management of the energy industries
  3. Development of energy and environmental information database
  4. Development of innovative solutions for transition to a sustainable energy system
  5. Design and application of energy efficiency and environment management market at the local, national, regional, and global scales. Allocation of environmental responsibilities in complex energy system.

Developed Models

  1. Model for evaluation of national commitment on reducing GHG from energy sector
  2. Optimal model of circular economy
