Tripartite International Cooperation with SE3T, LKT GmbH and 6 selected universities in Iran
SE3T has started the cooperation with international companies with the support of the German federal ministry of cooperation for capacity building and technology transfer for decentralized and small scale SBR wastewater treatment technology. This program involves pilot universities including Kerman, Khalij-Fars, Kurdistan, Maragheh, and Torbat Heydariyeh Universities and will provide an effective opportunity for education, discussion, and seminars in a scientific environment.
Decision-making on the most appropriate method of wastewater treatment and recycling is not very easy in Iran because of the different climates, different quality of wastewater and various applications of the treated water. The high investment cost of the wastewater technologies is another drawback; the main evidence for this claim is that only about one percent of villages are equipped with wastewater treatment plants in the county and accordingly it shows the opportunity of the improvement plans in this field. It should be emphasized that there is a close interaction among societies, environment, and the food in the rural area and any water recycling plan requires a comprehensive technical, environmental and economic investigation before any implementation. Because of the complexity of the studies in this filed and on the other hand focusing on the accumulated knowledge in universities they are the most relevant start poles for filling this knowledge and technique gap.
Population growth and increasing stress on water resources in our country have resulted in social and environmental challenges in some regions. Regarding the global rise in temperature and the decreasing trend in precipitation in recent years, planning and optimizing water resource consumption is a matter of urgency. Therefore, resource efficiency programs should accelerate and water cascading and recycling should develop, alongside meeting environmental standards and economic criteria
